The purpose of this meeting is to bring together scientist and policy makers of Lower Mekong Valley (Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Vietnam, Burma) along with subject matter experts from China, Australia, Singapore and the US with demonstrated interest in malaria programs to share resources, strategies, and expertise. Additionally, this engagement dovetails with the AFHSC's mission to enhance public health communications and training. It aligns with USPACOM's mission to protect and defend US national security interests by ensuring regional stability and a secure environment conducive to good governance and development. This is done through capacity building, collaborating with military partners that support host nation autonomy, strengthening the health of the community, building economic stability and beneficially impacting regional and global security.
